Default wtb manual sunroof clasps

I want to convert my non-working 951 electric sunroof to the manual kind. The archives say to buy the old manual clasps on ebay but there arent any available right now. Does anyone know where to buy them or have some for sale?

I did that to mine. It worked great. I found mine by posting a WTB on Pelican.

You can often find a complete sunroof on ebay for a song. I got a cherry manual off an old 924 at the junk yard for 10 yes ten dollars! Good luck.

For those that converted....can you still make it pop up like the electric version or is this a full on/off conversion? My electric roof is broken, I'd like to replace and still get the venting action by opening it (but not removing it.)

I have a set available if you still need them. I also have a converted sunroof panel (the infamous dixie flag one) that has manual clasps, and it works fine. To get the flip up, but not out mode is easy, you just turn them so that the levers flip out and rest on the rain rail. You'll see what I mean when you get a set.

Regards,

I have no idea why they even bothered with the electric setup at all. I mean, all the sunroof does is pop up in the back or come off completely.........do we really need a motor to do that for us? On top of that, it is flimsy and overly complicated..........

If you want to pop it up, you'll need to have a strap to hold it down, so it doesn't fly off. The original had a strap with a button that you would snap on the inside of the roof to keep it tied down. I eventually want to do something like that. So people have made their own versions. Search around you'll find pictures.
