I think it's about a $2k job here in the US but I could be mistaken. I did mine myself.

$2000 USD?! that seems a bit pricy. i heard its about a 10 hour job max...

$80/h x 10 + price of clutch kit = ?

did u do it in your driveway on stands? if so how hard was it to do?

For a 944 NA, the book rate is 16 hours, for Turbo with a two piece crossover it's 20 hours, and for the Turbo with a one piece it's 24 hours. I did mine in my garage with jack stands, I can't say it was a pleasurable job, but it definitely saved me money. If I were to do it again I would probably buy taller jack stands. It's really not that hard, it entails removing the exhaust, unbolting the axles, dropping the transmission, pulling the torque tube back slightly, and then digging into the bellhousing. It just takes a lot of time on your back. Fortunately I have a 968 now and the German engineers had a engineering epiphany and added a access panel to the bellhousing so a clutch job could be done with an hour.

I am (slowly) building a track car out of an 83 944 - I am planning on adding several access holes in the tub - one of them right at the top of the bell housing for sure!

The clutch job for a S2 is different than a 2.5 n/a since the clutch kit is more expensive. I would say $1500 is around where it should be at. If you don't have the tools or prior wrenching skills, let someone else do it.

It's refreshing to hear someone say that.
