I'm done, but the original question remains.
Long day, and I am tired.

But I can see where the big tach off to the side could be good, the stock location is frequently obscured by hands and steering wheel. So one off to the side, with a friendly reminder to shift could be a good thing.

Guess I wasn't done. Now I am.

i would put the light on top of the dash, near the original tach, so you dont have to take your eyes off the road to know when its lighting up, and the new tach.... hmm, not really alot of options, I guess somewhere off to the side would work well.

Pete, do you have the model of the tach? Perhaps we can locate some install instructions as to whether it is a dwell tach or whatever...

I will check on the model from the car's owner. Tonight we worked clutch leak, which turned out to be a ruptured hose above the slave cylinder.
We need to get together soon.

Can you tap off the lead that goes to the factory shift light? I notice that on track, it comes on when really railing on it. I have been considering this myself, I haven't had time to take it apart yet though.
