Rolling fenders for me is just a peace of mind thing. I'm not sure I'll even need them rolled, but cutting down a tire SUCKS...especially if it's a newer tire.

i agree, i think a good test is to push the car down on front and back and see if it touches/rubs with the new wheels, instead of just finding out...lol

on a 924S preppared to 944 spec standards.
You need the 52.3 mm "late offset" 15x7 wheels. 225/50 R15's will work as well as 225/50R16's. (same offset in a 16x7). You may need to run a small spacer in front to clear the stock diameter springs. If you use 2.5" coilover springs then you don't need to run the spacer. You may need to run 2" degrees of negative camber to clear the fenders with these tires. For spec car this what you need anyway, but it may not be ideal for a street car.
BTW... stock wheels were 15x6's and tire size was 195/65 R15. You should be able to get 205/60 R15's on the stock wheels. For a street car 205's are not bad for a 924S as they give you plenty of room. In my opinion 205/55 R16's at all 4 corners are ideal for a street driven 924S. While you could get 225's on street car I don't believe it is worth the hassle and while the 225's fit in the rear I prefer similar tire sizes front and rear for NA cars.

Yes, rolling the fenders is a must on the front with the wheel/tire size I went with. BUT tires make a difference as I had a different brand on the car in the past and had no clearance issue on the rear, which I just barely do now.
I have no spring clearance issues as I have Ground Control collars and smaller diameter springs up front.
Oh, and though it doesn't show in the pictures too much, be careful rolling the fenders. I was being a spaz and pushed the special tool (ie hammer handle) too far up in the fender when I was rolling out the fronts a bit more and put a few dings in the fender. I need to take it to a paintless dent removal place soon to get the dings massaged out.
