Default Car almost stalls, when cold.

I tried to search but didn't know which words to use so I'll post symptoms.

Car idles rough when cold. (surprise surprise)

When starting off in 1st gear, car will almost stall unless I give it more fuel and I release the clutch slower, then it takes off.

Car runs and idles fine when warm.

I recently replaced my 02 sensor, and did not have these first start problems.

Where do you think I should start?

Thanks

i start the car, then do the seat belt, sunglasses and it runs about a min before moving.

i run in 2nd gear about 2500 for a 1/2 mile or so. by then it responds as it should.

you probably see temps a lot cooler than i do and maybe the new sensor is part of the problem.

For a lack of a better explanation, it sounds like it's flooding, then it straightens itself out. This isn't the infamous 944 shudder, is it?

It may be the computer temperature sensor that is dead. When the engine is cold, the computer will compensate by richening the air/fuel mixture to prevent the engine from stalling.

Mine started idling rough about two weeks - I hadn't been driving it much until then, its a clean '83 with low miles and has always been very well maintained. I checked for loose vacuum lines and loose wire connectors, didn't find any. I removed the rubber intake boot, the throttle body was a little dirty before the butterfly, and very dirty after the butterfly. I rinsed it out with carb cleaner, along with the idle bypass hole (left side of throttle body as you look in). Started it up, it ran great and idled fine. I want to do a seafoam treatment to completely clean the intake system, but I think this rough idle was caused by the dirty idle bypass.

Man...same problem, same year 944. It seems the problem is steadily getting worse. Every morning, its a little harder to start the car. Takes a little longer for the idle to stabilize. Takes a bit more cranking to get it to fire at all.

It seems like my problem started after i cleaned the throttle body, AFM, and AF boot though. I just got this car though, so it could be anything.

This is good and bad i guess: good b/c now i have to start replacing things like injectors, plugs, wires, fuel rail, etc etc etc, and cant put it off anymore. Bad b/c now i have to start replacing things like....and cant put it off anymore lol.
