Rebuild your power steering rack
or
get 8 simultaneous root canals?

Kudos to you for taking this on...now you get the joy of putting the $#%&* thing back in the car.

I recommend walking around for at least an hour with your arms hanging by your side so as to build up enough blood in your forearms to last you when you're laying on your back holding the darn thing up.

Seriously, hope it goes ok.

well, it's in the car and mostly assembled.... bleed the system, top it off, and tighten some bolts, and I'm roadworthy

i'm debating if i should rebuild the one i have sitting around that i replaced. this isn't giving me a warm fuzzy feeling, but it cant be worse than removing and reinstalling a rack right?

Congrats Geoff. Now, just promise yourself you won't check the garage floor for at least a week...

See you tomorrow.

the rebuilding part is interesting... I left one seal untouched, as quite frankly, I didn't want to screw it up... in the clarks garage writeup, it's the "control tower" one... that if you damage the housing even a little bit, it'll leak forever....

overall, it just takes a lot of time and patience...took me a while, but I eventually got it. just go slow, open your eyes, look for the seals take your time, and it'll get done...

oh yeah, and make sure the guide sleeve is back in before you put it back together...

LOL! I don't have a garage... I have a place out front, and it's clearly mine... a nice, large black spot on the asphalt
