is part of the story missing?

i think what he is trying to tell us, is that before the Kia was an issue he could tell how fast the nissan was and was impressed. now he presumes the 951 must be even faster because it is a Porsche. IMO

As much as it sucks after all the work he has in the 240 SX, thats what happens when you **** around on public streets, where other cars may very well be parked, or EVEN driving on!

Calling it a Sylvia is a bit like me buying a 924 turbo, doing a few appropriate mods and claiming that it's a GTS...

...and as for showing off on a public road, I have no sympathy for your friend. He's lucky: -if it had been a PERSON standing where the Kia was, you'd both be in deepset, darkest doo-doo. As it is, he's wrecked his car and wrecked someone else's car too. Kias may not be impressive, but some people count on them to get to work.

I don't know your friend, but I don't think much of him from what you've told...

Many youth of today have the desire to create a very fine 'custom' automoble. They work hard at securing the proper parts, installing them, making them work in harmony together. And most of them also get their cars all shiny with cool looking (to some) body kits, spoilers, and a fancy paint job. Plus a decent audio system (complete with DVD & flat screen coming out of the dash.)

I admire those people. I honestly do. I wouldn't want to spend all that time and effort on a car.

But one thing is lacking -- all that hard work, dedication, pride of ownership doesn't replace the following:
- Common sense
- Seat time
- Knowning when to push the limits, and when NOT to push the limits.

Thus, all that effort & dedication has become a worthless pile of sheet metal. Youthful zeal doesn't always replace aged experience.

Now, where's my gerital?!?

-Z-man.
i agree w/everything you said. especially " Knowning when to push the limits, and when NOT to push the limits."
But, in this case (thankfully) IT IS only sheetmetal which means its replaceable.(its just money, no big deal). you have to act a fool when you're a youth or you'll never get the good ol aged experience. LOL !
