I'd like to get it done sooner, but who knows. As far as the rocker panels... I have never had them off, so I don't know. I've never done body-work, so i wouldn't know how to get them off or back on again.

If nobody takes the car by mid August I'll drive down and get it. Probably only cost me $300 in gas to get there and back.

Edit: just did the math, 2500 mile round trip, 15mpg in the truck, $3.00 / gal gas, $500. Ugh.

I'll put in on eBay and local channels (PCA and such, for the original price) once next week and if no one bites by the time those ads go away, it's yours. I could also meet you somewhere further north to cut down your driving time and cost as well.

Per my records, the 16V S was not offered in an Auto.

If I wasn't busy this weekend I would head down and take it. This sucks, didn't see this thread sooner. Next weekend is possible, Kurt - wanna go on a road trip?

That was my plan.

Next weekend I have a wedding to go to, plus band camp in Madison on Sunday.
Aug. 11 + 12 I'll be in Denver for the Champ car race
Aug. 18-20 I'll be at Road America for ALMS - got a place for me to crash?
That leaves the next weekend as the first I have open.

Didn't think so, but probably not common knowledge.

Not sure - depends on who all goes from my group. If its just the wife and I - yes we have plenty of room. If the rest of the clan comes down - the no, place will be full. Problem is, I will not know until the Friday of the event.

Problem is, if we both go, who gets the car?

Yep, just give me your email address and I will send them over as soon as I get home this evening. Your 928 is a WHOLE lot prettier.

You can buy it for the engine, give me the rest of the car and your old engine. It just has a spun bearing, right?

If I don't find anyplace else to stay for Road America I may end up at Plymouth Rock. I didn't find any hotels open within a reasonable distance, but sometimes rooms open up a couple of days before the event.

The "original" motor is lost (long story) well at least the block is. I sold the rods / pistons to a rennlister (cannot remember who) rest of the parts are on a pile.

I already have a 100% good short block and my head is almost brand new - cams, guides, seals etc... intake & cover is all powder coated etc... so I have more tied up in this motor than he is asking for the car. I just need to assemble the damn thing and my car is running again. Not a lot of work to do, but it needs to be done. The SC928 keeps getting in the way.

If you fix your 944s what will you do April 1st?

It would be a fun trip - drive down through Indiana, see if we get shot at, stop in Atlanta and visit Airbop and Campeck. Drive back through Tennessee and stop at Tod84944's place and see just how many parts he has.

I really need to get my 944S running by April 1st 2007. I've owned the car since April 1996 - haven't driven it since October 2001.

You know, if my 928 has no more issues - maybe I'll start on my 944 engine next weekend. I bet I could finish the motor in a weekend.
