Default 944 Powered VW Golf

I don't have much info on this car, I just saw the pics after contemplating putting my old 944 powerplant in my brothers VW Cabriolet.

Hope the pics work.

You'd think they'd have gone with a turbo powerplant instead of the N/A... but that's me...

I don't know if they could of gotten a Turbo motor in there. It looks like a pretty tight fit with just and N/A motor in there.

It seems like the NA is putting out enough power for him anyway!

What's cooler is that he did a RWD conversion. He already doubled his headache by putting the 944 engine in, why would he want to quadruple it with one out of a 951?

There was a Rabbit or Golf several years ago that had a 928 drive train and interior in it. It had been widened to accept the V8 and wider dashboard.

looks to me that a 951 engine would fit.......a 944 engine barely fits in a 944, looks like THAT would be easier to work on. i feel bad that he went through the conversion just so that he can not have power, and pay more for parts to boot!

He basically did the same thing as that 928 conversion I saw. That's not a black vinyl top is it?
