Talk to fishey.

And It can be done safely if done right, just ignore the wastes of bandwidth who will flame you.

Personally I would feel guilty everytime i hit it when I know I'm paying everytime i hit the button, so i'd probably rarely use it.

is it an n/a or turbo?
if its an n/a than you should save your money for cornering and handling upgrader, because the only way to get an n/a faster is to get the turbo.
so either buy a turbo for speed (then put n02 in that ) or save your money, nitrous on an n/a is pointless.

I'm pretty sure my '83 n/a is going to be plenty fast without a turbo =)

ya, but if you plan to slowly destroy your engine with nos and get a 75hp gain, than you might as well save yourself 3-4k for a new motor later, and get a 951 for the money and less stress and repairs.
btw: im the last one to say n/a's are slow (i have a 89 944 n/a 2.7)

No nitrous for me, just a nice 3.0L variocam engine from a 968.

3-4k? What are you on? No offense, but you can pick up N/A engines for a couple hundred bucks if that's all you need (and if you blow it with nitrous likely you won't need that much besides a new block and/or head). another couple hundred on seals if you even care to bother with that and you're around 500. If it works for a couple years before blowing itll take a while to build up to 951 cost.

Nitrous isn't going to slowly destroy your engine if you do it right anymore than putting a bigger turbo on a 951 will.

If you don't detonate, and do some sort of water injection all you are going to do is put excess wear on pistons and such, which, hey, the same basic stuff is in the 951 engine.

Nitrous (not nos by the way, thats a brand) will never be as efficient, nor have as much useable power as a turbo, supercharger, or more displacement will, but it's not a stupid decision depending how you use your car.

And if you think it's stupid to have a boost for straight acceleration, I bet theres been a time on an on ramp you couldve used a boost to get you into the flow of traffic.

PS: i would never put nitrous in my car.

1. I meant 3-4k for a nice 968 or s2 engine and if you go to a mechanic, installation
2. i said nothing about putting a bigger turbo in a 951, and yes, It does slowly destroy your engine.
3. i know its called nitrous, and nos is a brand, but nos is the leading and best manufacturer of nitrous.
4. i have a 2.7L I4, and am not short on power, I am short on $, thats why I think nitrous (not nos) is a waste and bad for your car.
5. thank god nobody here has said (yet...) that they want to have nitrous in a 17 year old car.
944's are classics and should be left that way, and not turned into ricers (not saying nitrous is a ricer tool) but since fast and furious is has gotten close.
