Default 944s2 tach not working after engine swap

I swapped a 90 engine into my 89 s2 and its running nice now but the tach doesnt work. There was a 9? pin connector on the old wiring harness with 4 pins used on it .....did that goto the gauges? Or is the tach run by something else?

Yes, that connector is used by the tach signal, a diagnostic port, the low oil level from the oil pan, and some other things that I can't currently recall.
