ya. I did not like the throttle cam either. AT first, i liked the excellent response that it gave to the gas pedal, but then I drew unhappy to the fact that cruising was not as fun as before. maybe its just me, but i like smooth-slow acceleration and feel.

mine feels jerky in 1st and 2nd gear with it , just something to get used to but IMHO the distance that you move the gas pedal with stock cam compared to the jerkyishness at low rmp when releasing the clutch with the aftermarket cam is a trade off. which to me makes the cost of an aftermarket cam near pointless, but hey curiosity may get the best of you. if your looking for a quick fix to throttle response then excersize your foot reflexityishness and save the money.

FWIW, the factory banana arm throttle cam was designed to limit driveline "lash". It somewhat cushions throttle inputs over the first half of the range, especially under decel. No doubt that the 1:1 throttle cam opens the throttle faster...but there's generally no free lunch...so you will pay a modest price with less smooth driveline when you're just cruising along in traffic.

I have one on my NA racer and like it very much, crisper than OE, but then again that car doesn't spend much time in cruise mode

ok, then my question is how do I shorten the cable whether I get the new throttle cam or just lop the lobe off of the stock one?

My right leg must be made of dead meat, because I installed the round cam the PO gave me and couldn't tell a bit of difference. That was a waste of 5 minutes. Anyway, if anyone really wants this thing, let me know and I'll drop it in an envelope to you free of charge. Otherwise, I'm thinking it'll make a great skipping stone.

I always believed it was there for the back lash reason, (help not destroy the rubbercenter on the clutch). which was put there to help deflect the direct input of a torque tube. Which brings to reason that the torque tube was put in place to give better HP to rear but had to be calmed by a rubercenter clutch and a slower arc to acceleration..which seemed self defeating of a torque tube. which makes taking out the defective rubber center clutch for a springed one and a round 1 to1 throttle cam.. ahhhhhhhhhh. I like the touch of the round cam. cause I have a spring centerd clutch...
