yeah, seriously. it's such a huge difference now and when i had my '84.

when i rolled up to my mechanic way back when i had my '84, i was like

"uhh, it feels kinda slow, and it's really hard to rev above like.....3k...and uhhh, it does all this other stuff. and the sunroof is stuck open (it was raining )"

then as i'm finishing my sentence, my car starts gurgling. we both look back, and it just starts ****TING coolant all over the driveway.

i look back at him and i say-

"and uhh, now apparently it's doing that"

in retrospect- that's a really hilarious moment in time, and it should be a scene in a movie.

but yeah, now with the 951, i can walk up and be like "oh, it's making this sound, i think it could be this" or, "it's doing this, i've heard this, and this, but i dont know, maybe it's this"

so yeah, rennlist helps alot.

It's always good to throw a question out here first... So the mechanic can't be like oh it's the distributor cap that is making your AC not work we need to get you a new one..

From what i hear my new found mechanic is the "****" apparently he only does porsches, beamers mercs. so we were talking about a front end reseal, timing belt/rollers, waterpump, thermo, upper rad. hose. and maybe the aos rings? he had said it would be about 900$ labor, so im guess somewhere in the 1500$ rannge, including parts. this is the start, it needs a o/p gasket, but if i do that im gonna change the bearings, which is why im not gonna do it. last time i was at his shop he had a sweet 78 911 targa all redone w/rebuilt motor, owner was asking $11K
