My electric release switch was recently broken by an enthusiastic goober (father of one of my daughter's friends) while checking out my new toy and trying to oen the hood. The contact/spring fell out of the switch into the footwell. Is it the same swich as is used for the windows? ('84) Can it be repaired or do I need to buy a new one?

Mine is stuck, I cant even turn the lock with the key. I can open it from the inside but I have to loosen the latches and rotate the mechanism while pushing up. I have the glass seperating from the frame problem that doesnt help with alignment issues.

The alarm I had installed a couple months ago has trunk release, but they had to disable the switch in the car to get it to work. So I either use the key or the remote control, but it only unlatches I just have to give it a small lift then it opens the rest of the way.
