Low miles because it came from Japan. What bothers me is that it has the Turbo Look which means it's not a base 89 944 right? Only S2's and Turbo's had the Turbo front end? Anyway it does nto have the little extended bumpers like the standard 944. Still claims it's an auto. After work I will check it out

Colin, how good of a look did you get at it? Did it have the Turbo/S2 bodywork (see Sysgen's avatar) or the n/a bumper? Did you actually see inside of the car and no clutch pedal plus T-handle shifter, or did the guy at the shop just say it was an auto?

edit: didn't see the above post. Ask to look under the hood, if its an S2 the valve cover will be very wide and flat.

Defintiely has the Turbo look, that look gets me every time!!! As for the rest, the guy at the shop said it's an auto 89 S2, that's al I know. I will try to get the VIN, then we should know for sure. I would still prefer a 951!! Hard to find in these parts.

Just talked to the guy that imported it. It's a base 944, 2.7L auto. Mechanic thought it was an S2 Very, very clean car. Either the car was made for the Japanese market to have the Turbo look or PO did the job himself, either way looks very nice. And true enough no auto S2's.
Just saw an 86 951, 106000 miles for 11500 Canadian, sound about right?

The turbo price sounds a little high but not too bad. It really depends on the condition and maintenance history. I have definately seen cheaper but a cheap Porsche will end up costing a fortune compaired to a well maintained properly priced one.

If it has the turbo body work and its an auto its a 2.7L. The 2.7 had the regular 944 look, so I am guessing the P.O did the turbo look himself. By the way the 2.7 was rated at 160 HP
