Default Rod knock? Please help!

I just took my car out for the first drive of the summer and I noticed a few problems, I left the house idleing at 850, when I get back it seems like the idle is stuck at 2,000, the car is backfiring, I hear a belt whining, it smells like burning oil (no smoke) and worst of all I hear a ticking noise when I get on the throttle, it think it might be a rod knocking? I'm freaking out so bad right now. I've only put 200 miles on the car since i've bought it, and i'm worried I might have gotten screwed... I'm really panicking, and I have no idea what to do, can someone offer me some advice?

Dont flip out. Worst case tis probally a lifter ticking.

My car is doing the EXACT same thing. Oil is dumping onto the crossover pipe, its idling at 2000 and i hear this rank *** ticking noise if i even get on the car at all.

What kind of oil are you running?

How much did you pay? By the list of mods, that color, and the way the car looks in the pic, id say you didnt get screwed.

Eh I dont think it would be a rod knock. It could also be that fuel pressure dampner line. A very smart man once said "I can pull that engine apart and put it back together blindfolded, and I still cant tell the differenc between lifter tick and dampner tick."

If the vacuum is wrong at the fuel pressure dampner, you can get a sound like that.

if the car has been sitting for a while you might want to build oil pressure before you start the car by pulling the dme relay and fuel pump relay...crank the car 5 times for 10 seconds or so till you see oil pressure

I'm running 10w30 full syn. I turned the idle down as far as it will go and its still is at 2000. its running really rough too. I don't even want to start it.

MPD47, sorry if i'm bothering you dude, but i'm more than a little worried about this. If it makes you that antsy, you need not reply.

you would know if your rod was knocking, you describe it as a ticking, its not a rod ticking its rod knocking. you will want to switch to 15-50 or something close for the winter. Since you have 5-6 things wrong, and apparently don't work on these yourself, get it towed somewhere to check it out!
Did you get a PPI befor eyou bought it?

I have 15-50 for the winter. I'm going to change soon anyway. It's definetly a ticking. Unfortunetly I just don't have the expertise to take the motor apart myself.

What do you mean by this? did you tighten down the little screw on the throttle body? If you did and it's still idling at 2000 RPM, then start looking for vacuum leaks. There should only be three ways for air to get into the manifold and that's through the throttle body, arond the throttle body via the screw hole or through the idle stabilizer. If it's still idling at 2000 after you closed those two down, then it's getting air to burn from somewhere else.

Yeah, thats what I was talking about. I made an appointment to have it looked at so hopefully someone can give me some insight. I'm still pretty new to these cars and I don't really have anyone in my area who can help me.

Go look for disconnected hoses on the intake manifold. Check all the vacuum lines especially the one going to the brake booster. Check your intake manifold gaskets too.

I'm also curious about your sig... you say 330RWHP on a 26/8? Do you have a dyno sheet? What boost are you running?
