Different composition exhaust valves, ceramic lined exhaust ports that are slightly smaller than the NA ports, some other minor differences.

Sure, no problem. If your car is an 85.5 or later use your old cam, not the turbo cam.

What's the reason for the swap? Do you need a new head installed, found a good deal on a turbo head or are you doing this with the hope of more HP?

I own a 951 head and a 944 n/a head...

I'm changing the headgasket and i was just wondering if there are couple of horsepower that i would get from putting a turbo head on it!!!!

This motor is only for this summer because my 2.8 turbo motor is on the way

Well if that's the case, bolt it on, hit the dyno and report back.

My guess is you will see a gain of 0.05hp due to a slightly better exhaust flow. Not worth it in my opinion. Sell the turbo head and use the money to build your 2.8.

There was an article somewhere that said putting a 951 head on the later (or ROW) n/a engines (with the higher compression pistson) yielded some good performance results. I dont remember where I saw it though.

Following the advice of Jim Pasha, I put a 951 head on a 88 (higher compression) block. I also installed a SuperChips, chip. I also used the stock tube exhaust manifold with a Flow Master muffler. He assured me I would be more than happy with the results. As usual, Jim was on the money!!!!
