Default Lifter tick when car is warm?

Ever since I got the car back together, ive noticed a loud *** lifter tick everytime the car is warm. Before the lifters would sometimes tick quietly at random, now with the intense heat we've gotten the last week, the problem has worsened.

They dont tick until the car is warm, which I think is totally gay. What do you think I should do? I had the head off for about 2 weeks and didnt soak the lifters in oil. Was this my mistake?

I remember a thread that states how notorious our lifters are. after I got my head off, I found like 6 bad lifters. do they tick when they are no longer good? I also remmeber that theres no replacement for them either? perhaps porshe sells them ( for an absurd amount no doubt ).

Try a thicker oil than 15-40 or dump some STP oil treatment (a thickener) in, it couldn't hurt to try it. When my car had 10-30 in it for the winter clicked it's lifters ALL THE TIME. From start up to shut down. It can't hurt to try...

Rock~
Did you change the oil, or at least add oil after pulling the head.

"Rotella T? What the hell thats diesel oil!"

No i certainly did not! You know my sister! You think that ****s gonna fly? We changed it at your house like 2 days before we did the head.

Im dumping the Rotella T and going with 20w50 Castrol GTX

The dampner line talk was that the lifters may not be whats ticking. It could be fuel in the fuel rail. Apparently the dampner is to dampen the fuel rail so it doesnt make so much noise or splash fuel around. Eric you got a spare lindsey T I can have?
