Default WTB a sway bar or bushings!

Well i found out that on the passenger side one of the middle bushings ate it and broke off. I was either thinking off upgrading the sway bar since it is only 83 porsche 944. Putting on new bushings kind of suck since you have to wiggle them onto the bar. What do you guess think i should do? Thanks

The bushings are pretty inexpensive ($6-$8) and available from most sponsors here. The bushings on your 83 were eaten up by ATF leaking from your power steering unit. You can upgrade to a later Turbo sway but I would recommend doing both front and rear at once unless you want even more understeer than you do now.

You should be able to find what you are looking for here. Of course this is just one of several vendors.

I am in the process of doing the same thing. What you choose is really dependant on how much you want to spend. For example Delrin is more expensive, but a more permanent fix. If the car is relatively new to you, I wouldn't spend the money on a different bar at this point. As you go along you will likely find other maintenance issues/items that need attention before upgrading.

Where do you live? I have a stock bar and brackets off of my 85.5 but it probably wouldn't be worth shipping.

www.944online.com.

I really don't think you want to be buying USED bushings and they're inexpensive. Just order the darned things.

Good luck.

Might be worthwhile to go ahead and fix the leak that most likely ruined the bushing in the first place. Upgrading to 951 bars would be nice, but that depends on how much money you want to spend. Used pair of turbo bars run $100-150.
