Default ROW?

Hy rennlisters!
I am in the process to convert my 4k DME to 8k with an 1988 944 programm.
I have a new eeprom( new bin file-thanks to somebody...),B700 jumper is in place, but i need to switch it to ROW...
Under the dash, beside DME I see two plugs. How to plug them to switch to ROW? Do I need to use a resistor or something?
Thanks!

Not too many know that there is a "coding plug" (jumper) or "impedance adaptor" (resistor) that can be changed to give the US cars the same maping as the ROW cars.

ROW should have just the resistor and not the jumper.

Cars for Switzerland and Sweden have both as does "Rest of World - Stage A"

M298 (where the heck that is) has no resitor or jumper

US has just the jumper.

Edit: This is for DME #944-618-121-04 86 924S

OK M298 is Canada, US (not California) and Austrailia. Should have read the next page.

Note that there are variations depending on type of car (turbo or N/A), year and with or with out the CAT.

Best to use the part number on the DME as a reference!!!

Also note that not all DME's can be used on all harnesses.

Ok,
My car is European model, with cat (deleted now)and a 3 wire oxigen sensor...
Dme code is 0 261 200 077 (944 618 121 04)
I upgrade the eprom to 28C64 and the program with an 88 model (my car is 87),but how to play with impedance plug to bypass cat?
Which one is impedance plug and which one the code plug?
Thanks!

I think I get it...
I have to use an 1.8 ohm resistor on white plug (plug for variant switch), so that means "ROW without cat converter".Please somebody correct me if I'm wrong!

You are in new territory. Don't lean out the engine and burn the valves.

One of FR Wilk's findings a few years back was that the maps in some of the early 944's had been reversed. That is what was supposed to be US was ROW.

I start the car with new programm and it sounds nice.I think it runs rich(gasoline smell like It was with old programm).
Do I have to put the resistor to jump the cat?
