XM Radio power supply
I've been a big fan of my XM radio, and I'd like to have the unit in my S2 as well. Unfortunately, the cigarette lighter in the Porsche is 1) too shallow, and 2) too wide in diameter for the power adapter that comes with the XM head unit. I'd really, really prefer not to hardwire anything in order to give this little bugger some juice, but I'm running out of ideas.
Surely there are others among you who have encountered similar issues. Maybe not with an XM Radio unit, but a radar detector, perhaps? The cigarette lighter socket just appears to be an unusual size.
Thanks in advance. I also just became a Rennlist member -- woo-hoo!

Yep, I had the same problem with my Passport radar detector... I always wondered who had the cigarette lighters that needed the little 'adapter sleeves' that I saw for years without needing. I always ended up throwing them away...

my sirius adapter fits fine, but if i bump into it the radio will shut off...so far so good. You can easily pull the cig. lighter out and replace it w/ a normal sized one from autozone or somewhere.
