Default How to open hood w/ broken cable

On an 86 N/A. My mom finally wants to start driving her car again but the hood is stuck closed w/ a dead battery. Any ideas on how to open w/o damaging anything?

Jack it up, remove the undertray, reach up to the lactch and pop it open. Complete with beer. (this is assuming you have ape arms like me) If you need more room, take off the fans.

The fans/shroud come off the N/A very easily; I can pull mine on the 83 in 10 minutes. It's the 951 that causes problems due to the different routing of AC and oil-cooler lines. My arms are too short for the pull the release from below method.

Where did the cable break off at? If it is still in the cab, then grab it with a pair of plyers and pull....

Haha. This is ghetto, but with my old N/a, I popped the headlights and lifted *** up on the drivers side of the hood.
