Default interior color question (what color blue is this)

Is the blue dash and steering wheel "marine blue" or "cobalt blue"? This is a 1989 S2.

That looks like a black dash to me with the glare creating a blue hint. The interior looks like standard linen to me.

you know, considering that it matches very closely the color of my '84, i'd imagine that it's cobalt, as i think that's a darker color, with marine being ligther.

are you sure cobalt/marine are even options for the interior? i think BlueS2 might have a bit more info....but his interior is a bit more "purple".....but that might be just because of the sun....

On my 95 midnight blue 968 my dash was blue and the steering wheel, and I had not linen but a marble light grey seats and door panels.

The interior is tri-toned, linen seats/carpets/lower dash, black console/mid dash, and dark blue upper dash, steering wheel, A-pillar covers. The exterior is Baltic blue, and I don't have the car or card with me, but IIRC it just says linen interior. The blue on the interior is pretty dark, and when I first bought the car I thought it was black, untill I first took the roof panel out and got some good sunlight on it.

I'll try to find another pic.

edit: w/ pic. This is with my obviously black steering wheel.

Yeah that's how mine was. I loved the combination, I never saw it on any other one before. I'll post a pic of it later on I have to make it smaller.

My father's 94 968 coupe is similar. It has a "deviating carpet" option though. Midnight carpet vs. standard grey. His 92 cab is all solid blue inside. I prefer the two-tone of his coupe, see pic below

Never seen a blue/linen dash on a 944. I really like that S2. Every blue interior car I've seen has always been solid blue. My fathers baltic '89 turbo is like this

I'm with you, Mike- the two-tone look is nice. Beats the heck out of the solid black with tweed seats setup I've got...

sooooooooo. . .

Any ideas on which blue this is? I'm trying to source some replacement parts and would prefer they matched. According to PET there is Cobalt and Marine. So far there is 1 vote for cobalt. Can someone post a pic of marine blue just to be sure? Thanks.

Definitely Marine Blue if it is the original interior for a 1989 model. Cobalt Blue was not available until m/y 1991.

That is what I was thinking. Don't have any of my Porsche reference manual stuff with me currently though

what replacement parts do you need? I have some random blue interior pieces from the above mentioned '89 turbo (parts car). it is the same blue

You most likely don't have it, but if you do, PM me ASAP. I'm looking for a Blue 968 CS steering wheel (they were made, and I almost bought one, and am still kicking my self for not buying it). I will gladly trade my black 930S wheel plus a few bucks to get a blue 968 CS wheel.
