Hmm, i would probably see if I could rig it up as a dimmer switch for LED accent lights or something...

IDK, I don't have one.

I loved the idea of putting the garage door opener there. I ran out and did it, only I used the rear wiper spot since my alarm indicator is where the fader goes. I installed an aftermarket switch for now in a blank cover. Does anybody know of a source for the factory switches (eg. lock switch) cheaper than $60? I am afraid the blank won't take for force of pressing on it for long.

It's my conveniently located hole where valuables and important tiny objects can be accidentally lost forever. Actually, I just removed it last week and I've been thinking of what to do with the hole. What I want to end up doing (on a future car, because I'm selling this one): rig a replacement AC switch in that spot, delete the stock AC switch, and install a gauge where the stock AC switch goes.

Yeah, I have to remove mine, save some weight...

I'm thinking about just buying and making a carpet piece that covers the hole.

The blank fillers are $1.85, probably the cheapest parts on the car.

I once bought an o-ring for less than a dollar! Mercedes-Benz used these same faders, so if you want to find/sell one, use that as a keyword. But it's true - weight = death. Delete it, and put nothing in its place!
