Assuming this is for a 944 that originally came with 215/60R15s (or similar OD):

I'd look for 225 or 235/45R17 for the front and 255 or 265/40R17 for the rear.

Personally, I like to fit a wider tire where ever possible - so you can guess where my preference would be.

yea, i wanted to jump to a wider tire, right now it is fitted with 205's up front and 235's in back, and they just look too small for the rim. im not too concerned about any understeer it might incur, the wheels are already heavy as hell to begin with. thx
