Default Yup, the PO was definately smoking crack.

I got this car a little while ago, and have slowly been bringing it back from being neglected/butched. I think it's about time to show everyone the type of things I'm working with.

All of this does absolutely nothing. In fact, those aren't fuses, they're just pieces of solid aluminum. Everything here is hot, and is just spliced into the main battery harness.

The red wire on the very right is the + cable coming from the back of the car - the battery was relocated there for unknown reasons. Everything else is what you would expect to find connected to the + terminal of the battery. One wire was just laying around - luckily it didn't touch a ground.

"Racing" pedals.

No airbox brackets - it's just hanging around.

The preferred method of securing the battery is a bungee cord and some packing peanuts. Note the high quality ground cables.

Quick battery release designed for racing. Made by Shimano.

Fuel pump wiring

Stylish yellow seatbacks.

Improved PCV system.

ya was it worth it? i hope you didn't pay too much. the guy used amp wiring to do all that crazy stuff. and why is the battery in the back? maybe i'm wrong but i remember hearing that it's heavier already in the back? correct? so then why would the battery have to be there to add more weight??

Sorry to hear about your PO.

Wow. I'de have nightmares for days! And then quickly redo all of it to how it should be!

EDIT: And on Rennlist, we have no right to even refer to those as "battery cables." It's virtually an insult to what we do know as battery cables!

Those are just...um...uh...something appears to be hanging off your battery! Yeah, are those charged shoe laces?? (much better excuse!)

Those kind of things really make me laugh....
it reminds me of this kid at my high school who cut his exhaust pipes off near the manifold to make his truck "louder" and couldnt figure out why he was getting such bad mileage...

What the hell is it with previous owners? I wonder if I ever resell my cars if I'm going to be someone else's idiot although I strive to be as meticulous as I can be. . . *sigh*

We had a Honda CRX come into our shop with bad frame damage, I think it was bought for parts, some kid owned it previously and had the normal kid mods. Anyway, one of the mods was a Grant 3 spoke steering wheel. Nice you say, right? Well the kid didn't spring for the hub so he made one out of a block of aluminum in shop class, there was nothing to hold this thing to the shaft but the tightness of the hole!!! I think we figured out why he crashed, luckily he didn't take anyone out with him.
