I havent been sure if my speedometer is correct.

If so... whats the highest anyone has gotten their 2.5L n/a up to?

For the '87 model series, the manual states..

8v 944 - 136mph
944S - 142mph
944 Turbo - 152mph
944 Automatic - 134mph

Speeding is bad, but i can tell you after 125mph it takes a long time to go any higher...

I hit 135 and redline... But I learned that my speedo is either 5mph fast at 30mph or the cops little speed reader things are messed up.

Yes you should be able to approach 140 if you have a REALLY long stretch of road.

We had a little NorCal/SoCal get-together three weekends ago in which my 944 hit 130mph fairly easily. The limiting factor was my transmission (short 5th gear). Other n/a's where getting close to 140mph. Yes, we were being immature.....

BTW, the "other n/a's" were all 968's and my 944 is powered by a 968 motor....

Hey Canuck.

Car should go in the shop this weekend.

Was out getting it running, the electical gremlins have eaten their fill. Had to get a new battery and some gasoline stabilizer. Running okay.

Even had to use it to jump the Exploder when I left the radio on too long.

On a timed run, we estimate I did 147mph in the 88 924S. 64 miles in a hair over 25 minutes.

On my tripe to CA, I was at 130 for miles on end, with room to grow.

joseph. my car was the opposite. when i had the tall5th gear tranny i could never make it over 120 even going on downhill portions of road. now the car soars past it and even pulls past 140. im pretty sure given time the needle would hit 150.

ive rarely hit 120 in my car- since there is no room around here to speed that much- but on the track last weekend it hit 120 consistently every run. IM sure it would do 130, just would take alot longer. Ahhh, memories of my supra that would do 130 between stoplights(ok not really but close).
