Default worth of a 88 924S AUTO??

found a guy letting go a 88 924S for pretty cheap cause it needs a water pump. But then he told me its an Auto. I don't see much of a market for an auto sports car, so what do you guys think this thing is worth?
i was wanting to pick it up, do the water pump and sell it.
btw its 'Maroon' and supposed to be in 'great' shape with everything working. I would also imagine average miles. And its an older guy.

Depends upon location. My car dropped 500$ in value just by moving to Cincinnati.

If YOU dont want it, let me know.

"Rare" can mean "unwanted".
Needs a WP?, means belts & rollers too- IF the owner is honest and thats ALL that wrong.. over $2500? walk away.

Around here, a 924S auto with bad waterpump sells for $500 to $750.

A bad water pump is not an excuse to part out a car. If it is in good shape and you can do the work yourself you could make a good profit flipping the car.

Damn. The auto tranny alone is going for $850.

I need to get to SoCal soon. Maybe with the new gig this will be possible.

Yep, snag the good parts for replacement on MY car, and let the rest go.

got for a thousand. I am busy for a little while, till i can dive into it and see what the issue is. I figure at a $1000 i can part it for more if i can't fix the problem.

i also have an 87 924S auto.. i am thinking about selling it soon and picking up a 5 speed.

I did the waterpump, belts, rollers, ect.. NEW dampner. Putting a leather interior and carpet from the 944 parts car i got, and probably a dash kit before i turn it around to sell it.

it has 67k on it

paint is pretty straight, except for a ding i repaired on the passenger side front fender.

what do you guys think this would go for in central jersey?

thanks for any comments,
keith

Keith- tough call. The auto's are really down on the list. They are perfect daily drivers, a lot depends on PM , records and maintenance.

i was thinking maybe starting at 3.2k in the local paper classifieds and seeing if i could get any one to bite.. then put it on here for a reasonable price.
