Default rebuilt power steering rack

Does anyone know who sells a good, reliable , rebuilt power steering rack ?Its for an 1986 944 na.Hopefully with a god/fair price.

What about rebuilding it yourself? Anyone try that. I see you can get the kti for like $60 and instruction are on Paragon and Clarks. Seems like nont a bad project... if I didn't have so much else to do.

ya thats what i'll be attempting sometime soon. seems like a very worthwhile investment as these things at the lowest are like $400 rebuilt!

I think that's next month's project for me too. I figure I can get all new hoses, a new fluid tank and a rebuild kit for the price of a new rack. My car's at the shop getting the AC fixed right now and they gave me a quote to fix up all the power steering leaks when they checked it over....~$1400.

i tried to rebuild mine, but the rack itself was so badly pitted that it still leaked. the rebuilt one i purchased if working perfectly fine after a year or so.

I rebuilt it myself with the Rennbay kit a month or two ago. Still works great with no leaks. Just go slow and read the instructions carefully. Only the large seal at the bottom of the main part of the rack was trouble.
