Default Porsches 2 Oxford 2006 -- RENNLIST IS A SPONSOR! WOOHOO!

Yeah Buddy! Porsches 2 Oxford 2006 is officially rolling with registrations taking place as we speak. I was drafted (more like bribed and cajoled) into designing the web site this year so as resident curator of the P2O Internet portal, I offer you:

http://www.porsches2oxford.com

The show is Saturday, July 29, 2006.

John and Jen have graciously made the decision to participate in this year's event as our Trophy Sponsor for the Top-25 cars in attendance (thank you thank you John and Jen!!!). Each winner will receive a plaque ceritifed and blessed by Rennlist.com!

We've also secured Griots Garage as our primary sponsor this year which we're jazzed about. Other sponsors include Automart Mag, Motomotion, EPR Automotive, Autobahn Extremist, and a few others. Every one of these sponsors including Rennlist are, we feel, top shelf companies that underline how they feel about the show.

With the demise of the Tweeks Funfest, we're hoping Porsches 2 Oxford becomes a signature event in the Midwest. Last year cars were from seven states including Canada (140 cars). Ask anyone who attended last years event along the closed downtown brick-lined college streets of Oxford OH (with police on duty downtown!) and they will tell you it was absolute first class in every way. Quite frankly I go to a LOT of events and the location of P2O is beyond words. Check out the slideshow on the Web site to see for yourself.

What's great is while last year we attracted 140 cars, at this time last year we have ZERO cars preregistered. At this moment we have over FIFTY. And the downtown Oxford area is only so big. We may have to cap the total at 200-225 cars this year so if we run out of space -- and its a very real possibility -- your registration will not be accepted. There's wasnt a ton of extra space last year so if you'd like to attend, preregistering now is a good idea.

Whats awesome about P2O is the Elms Hotel at show center is completely reserved for P2O participants all weekend (must mention you are a show participant). Theres a COVERED garage across the street -- completely reserved for show participants. And like any college town, thers more eateries and pubs than you can count -- all on the very streets the cars are parked. Theres a great center "courtyard" in the middle of the downtown with fountains and room for the frisbee. Plus a big PA bandbox where all the freebies from sponsors will be given away all day.

Theres also an autocross set for Sunday morning at Miami University Airport. I want to say XSBoost is helping to organize this, but DONT quote me on it.

Miami is a great town out in the country. Its less than 3 hours from Indianapolis, Louisville, Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus, and Lexington, nestled near the Indiana/Ohio border.

Porsches 2 Oxford is a casual event. You dont have to be driving a garage queen to feel welcomed. If it has the crest on it, that's your meal ticket. But there are fantastic cars that show up and looking and talking to the owners is half the fun.

I flat out guarantee if you go to P2O, youll come back next year. I happen to know the guy who's taken charge of it and he's as maniacal about perfection as they come. It's really a sickness for him. He does absolutely nothing half-***.

We had a great contingent of waterpumpers last year including several Rennlisters. It would be good to get a few more. If you know anyone else who'd like to come, by all means point them to the Web site. All the information you need is right there.

If the weather is half as good as it was last year, you'll wish the event was every weekend.

if I receive any more info, I'll post it here. Thanks for listening.

Yeah, Oxford is definitely a great place....and a great place for this event........and I was glad to see it come here.
Unfortunately, I haven't made it there yet. I hope to change that this year. Thanks for the early info Chris.

Another bump! 130 cars and climbing fast with three weeks to go. I promised a hearty waterpumper contingent so my reputation is on the line. Plus Rennlist is a sponsor!

You can still register the day of the show, but "no shirt for you!"

I dont know the price offhand but I think the Elms Holiday Inn which his the show sponsor hotel is completely booked now. I would call to be sure though and you must mention P2O to even get a room b/c its reserved for us.

There is another hotel about 3-4 minutes away. cant remember but Im thinking Comfort Inn.

Registrations keep rolling in. We have almost as many re-registered now that showed up all of last year (140). I expect significant day-of registrations too. Someone mentioned an entire KY PCA region is caravaning in.
