Thumbs up Momo seat installation - lotsa pics

OK, I bought these seats over a year ago for my black/black 86 951 (now sold). So instead of taking anymore beatings selling brand new stuff at a loss, I decided to install these in my car. I wasnt sure how the silver piping would look in a linen/black interior car, but I think It turned out nice with the pedals and wheel "tying it all together" Ill try to get more daytime pics (we finished at 8pm or so).

A few things to consider... I thought I purchased everything I needed with the seats: rails, brakets, hardware; but this was not the case. Momo supplies neither hardware or instructions, so if you plan on doing this now you have more of a guide than I did!

We had to go to Home Depot becase they assume that youre gonna use the existing bolts, but unfortunatley that leaves you about 8 short. Also you will have to drill out the 2 innermost holes on the seat rails. Thanks to Sco for the assistance.

Hmm, looks like you used the same brackets and sliders I did for my recaro speeds. I didn't need to drill any holes tho... Why did you? I was able to get hardware from Stable Energies where I bought the sliders/brackets from, so luckily I didn't need to run to get hardware...

...on the one pic with the drill ... the two inner holes on the rails were just slightly smaller than the outside ones (thus about an 1/8 inch too small for the porsche hardware), I didnt have to do any modifications to the car.

Also, somehow I ended up with spare bases, (the black metal braket in the first pic) to attatch after market seats to the car. Theyre never used, just some slight scuffs and such from garage cleanings and so forth. I have both driver and passenger side, PM me for pics if interested.

Hey Derek,

I already have a set of bases, but what I would like to know is what the Momo sliders and little angle bracket part numbers are and where you got them.

Thanks,

I'm actually very interested in this as well... Momo make the least expensive FIA rated seats. Obviously those won't be reclining though.

please do chime in as to fitment and quality though... hate spending that kind of money without some idea of what I am getting in to.

Ah the fitment is great, Im pretty hefty at 6-1 270lbs , and they fit me nicely, I happen to like it a little more snug in my back over the stock seats. So far the fit and finish is great, the sliders are a little stiff, but Im hoping theyll "break in" over time. My only complaint is that the seats are a good inch or so higher than stock so probably this weekend Ill have to break out the dremel and cut the brackets down; when I go over a bump my head hits the ceiling . Ill try to post some pics on that too, but I figure I got the hard part done.

Im pretty sure this is where I got the seats and hardware from: http://ltbmotorsports.com/momo.html but like I said it was a while ago. Ill see if I can dig up the part #s.

I had to get the reclining ones, this is still a street car and Im a tall drink of water I gotta stretch out.
