Not that hard -- but there are a couple of potential pitfalls. One is to make sure you don't drop/lose the little white plastic piece that connects the lock cylinder to the locking mechanism.
There should also be directions in Clark's Garage -- but I find it easier to take the handle off by punching out the cotter pin at the base.

When I tried to do it, I just took off my door panel, took out the ONE screw that holds the door handle from the outer edge of the door, and then I just disconnected linkages from the door handle at whatever locations looked most convenient. I had the handle off the door in under 5 minutes.

I just replaced my drivers side today. Only took me about 30 min. and that is also swapping out the lock cylinders. After doing it a few times, I think the best way is to get a large screwdriver and pop off the plastic piece from the top through the window slot. To put it back on, pop off the vent on the side of the door and reach up and push it back on. I hate to take my panels off!
