I had a 1984 928s shipped via DAS, from L.A. to outside Chicago, for around $500.00. I live around 2.5 hours away from the drop off site, the price to my door was crazy, $1,400! I would reccommend using DAS, but I only used a shipping company once...

I used DAS to ship my 944 from Orlando to Tulsa. You can get a free qoute online. But they told me when I called them that since it's a Porsche, it has to be shipped enclosed. That added several hundred to the estimate on their webpage. And they do add a heck of alot to it if you ship it to your door. They passed withing 2 blocks of me shipping it to Tulsa but still wanted to charge me door delivery if I picked it up here.

I'm in the process of having the 944 Turbo shiped to me from TX to Atlanta. The fee is $750 door to door on an out-door carrier. The company I went through is AAA discount auto and truck. They can be reached at 888-726-2799.

From NJ to VA, why don't you drive??

From TX to Atlanto for 750, that doesnt sound too bad, but NJ to VA driving also doesnt sound too bad, maybe a tank or two of gas...might be worth it to just get a buddy and drive.

Much cheaper for a plane or bus ticket to the car, then drive back yourself. Much more fun, and great experience unless you have zero time, or the car is not running.

UPS... shipping is killer though...

Kidding... Check out intercity lines. they're awesome... I, however, like Kevin. if the car is mobile, drive it!

R & J Transport. They work the east coast. Very nice couple. Ask for Jen 919-398-2179. They shipped a 924S for me from NJ to Atlanta. You can tell them Albert gave you their number.

It seems to work - as that's how I shipped my car from NH to Washington State...
