Default Man this stuff is fragile!

I am replacing the battery cables today and ran into a few problems.

first is I broke the vacume nipple off of the brake master cyclinder. Can I just replace the nipple that goes into the cyclinder?

Second: when I was removing the air box the wires came off of the cylinder thing behind it. does it matter how the two wires attached?

Pic's attached.

I have pix at home of the metal cylinder. I think they show how the wires attach. I'm at the shop now and don't have access to the pix. I'll check when I get home if nobody else helps you first.

I had the nipple break off the brake booster too. For a short term fix I epoxied it, and someone who was parting a car sent me one free since I bought other things from them. I am sure you could go to the dealer and pick one up for cheap. It is no good to drive without it as the brake booster wont boost and the brakes are virtually non existent As for the wires on the master cylinder on all my cars the brown wire with the massive connector goes toward the cabin and the other goes toward the front if the connectors are facing the drivers side. Hope this helps.

Sorry I didn't post pix. I forgot the thread. I've got to get ready for work, but I'll try again tonight.

I don't have much to add other than I've broken that nipple thing, too.

It's all a little plastic plug thingie that is easily replaced. Just pull the old one out and stick the new one in. You will most likely be extra careful not to break the newone.

I didn't even think I touched it the first time. Just looked over and it was laying there.

What is the purpose of that cylinder/canister behind the air cleaner box anyway?

No thats not it. It is in the first picture. It is behind the rear mounting bracket for the air cleaner box.
