I remember in college when my car was broken into and all the stuff was stolen out of it. Since the theft was less than $1K, the police didn't even want to further persue the criminal. Yes, they dusted for fingerprints (don't know if they found anything or not), and yes, they actually had a guy in custody caught red handed doing the same thing a few weeks later. During questioning, he wouldn't even admit that he was there when he was caught red handed. Don't know how the case ended up.
Point being, between a criminal that has no issue in perjuring himself (I lost that ID the day before), and his defence lawer (prove that my client was there at the scene at the time), it's very likely that the guy is gonna walk anyway. Amazing, really, that anyone gets convicted.

The biggest joke is that he cannot even drive!
That is not a drivers license!
And what was he going to find in the glove box.....gloves?
If that turns out to be him....CLEAN HOUSE on his AZZZ
PS.smart job scanning the card.
Because once law enforcement gets it, anything can happen.
Ask me about the story of my parents neighbors who put a 9mm round through
Their wall and into my parents bay window nearly killing my father. And how when we found the bullet the hole in the side of their house and all the evidence the Arlington police just dropped the ball because nobody would answer the door.(ps this house is known to have people just stop by with their cars running and the APD will not even station a car outside)
Oops sorry that was the whole story. Sorry for the rant

Doesn't it seem weird that he would leave this ID card lying around?
Something does not add-up...it could be dumb stupid luck but fishy.....
Its like leaving the scene of the crime and say "Catch me...Catch me...."
Puzzled????

Chances are, you got the right guy. You wouldn't believe how stupid people can be. My motto around here is that we toss the statute book and just charge folks by how stupid their crime was Thank god some other poor Public Defender will have to represent him!

Damn, man... suxx0rz about getting your window smashed, but on the upside, you can seriously f*ck with this guy now. Whereabouts were you parked- what street? One of the gals here at work parked her Jeep Cherokee on Boissevain here in Ghent and had her **** broken into with the EXACT same modus operandi, broke the passenger window in broad daylight and snatched stuff out of the glovebox. If you're near here, sounds like it might've been the same guy... yeah, might not stand up in court, but it certainly SOUNDS similar.
Go get'em, just be careful...

It's probably planted.
The thief knows that by the time the cops are done chasing this dead-end lead they won't want to pursue it any further to look for another culprit given the low $ nature of the crime.
Odds are the person who broke into your car stole the ID.

MAybe it's the paranoia, but you should have it dusted for prints. I mean people are just dumb and I'm sure you got the guy. But they're right; any half assed public defnder will say, can you PROVE it was actually my client. If not, a squadron of 44's out front might make him pee a little...
