shipping trans, best way to ship?

I think it is all in the experience - FedEx freight only insures used parts 50 cents/pound..... unless you pay a fortune for additinal insurance.
Had a 968 hatch damaged by fedEx feight... they paid out a measly $90 total for all damage

I drained all the oil and shipped mine via UPS Ground.
Thank goodness I saved the triple-wall boxes the Yamaha drum set came in, very handy!

I clear wrapped mined, ratchet strapped it to a pallet and sent it DHL. Cost was 78 bucks. It weighed just under 150#.
