Default Help needed for a sanity check on wheel bearings

Hello fellow rennlisters...

Replacing the inner and outer bearings on the front of the '88NA. This question is regarding the seal for the inner bearing as it slides onto the spindle/steering knuckle. The old seals were so bad and incredibly dirty I didn't pay any attention to orientation on removal. On replacement, I am looking at the seal with the larger ring toward the outer most side of the seal, with the letters/numbers, as "outside". Is this correct before I get all this reassembled?

Thanks in advance!

the numbers/ id letters etc should face towards the spindle. Place the rotor face down-outside bearing down- and put the seal in facing out/up towards you- tap in place w/ a rubber mallet or whatever until its flush w/ the rest of the rotor/hub. PUt alittle grease on the edge to keep it from burning up. tada! i need to do mine while were discussing this.

Just to make damned sure that I have this straight, I am going with a visual reference! The rotor is off the hub as I am putting this back on the spindle, seeing how I guess that's how this year is...

Check it out and confirm one more time for me?
