Default Oil pressure gauge not working

Let me start off by saying that the search was not working for me.... but then... when does anything work for me?

The oil pressure gauge doesnt even move on my 86na. It's not pinned at 5 it just doesnt move and the warning light doesnt come on. It just sits there at the bottom.
For the past couple weeks it would do that until the car warmed up and then it would jump up and read propperly (it seemed).
I checked the grounds around the battery and the starter. They seem good.

I do not know where the sender is but I thought that if the sender was bad it would pin at 5?

I did replace my odometer gear recently so the cluster has been out. What should I check on there to make sure I didn't damage anything?

Thanks for any help.

I have read this.
That tells me how to replace the unit. I know this.
I need to know if it is the unit or not. Because I have heard that if it is the unit the needle pins at 5bar.

If the gauge was not reading correctly prior to you removing the dash, then its likely whatever problem with the pressure sending unit got worse....CHECK the sending unit and make sure both wires are still connected. I highly doubt anything removed from the dash caused the problem, your volt gauge would be acting up also..but who knows.

in my early NA, the guage wouldnt read unless all the guages are plugged in. As in, i tried to test it before i re installed the dash, and i got nothing. I plugged all the gauges in, tach, warning lights, etc etc and it worked like a champ....
