Default Auto Gear Selector

Would an automatic gear selector (I know... auto....) from an early 944 (1984) fit and work properly in my 1986 n/a?

Thanks.

Damn...
The piece on mine that locks the selector is broken off. I dont need to press to change gears, I can just move it.
It's really not too safe.
Oh well.
Thanks!

There is a chance some parts are interchangable, but i personally wouldnt count on it.

Ok I won't then, because it would have to be shipped from the UK anyway.
It's not incredibly urgent but I thought if I could snag one now it would probably be for the best.

Thanks again, Jon.

If youre still looking mid April, PM me. I have seen lots of these in Hershey, and I know what I'm looking for. I want to buy a new early Auto Tbar for the auto and dont need the guts.

If you want one really soon I can head over to my parts guy and get you one, he's got a whole indoor warehouse filled with Porsche parts.

I'd send it for cost + shipping, and I can call him on a price if you'd like.
