Your pledge to renew is good enough for me, one K26/8 is yours for 200. Let me know when you want to pick it up.

Wow, nice work Dan...lots of goodies!!

Ive got a dry to4e thats going in my car soon - looking forward to less hoses

Question - Did you use Lindseys copper gaskets where you could or did you use all OEM gaskets? Just curious, all the exhaust/crossover gaskets are the last things I need to order...

Dan, I should get my membership tomorrow and after that I can work out the pick up then. Working full time and having paramedic school (about 25 hours a week) keeps me busy, so I will have to see when a good time is to come get the turbo. Love to take a quick look at your car too!

when you say dry turbo does that mean no coolant lines? When i ran w/ the supra crowd that always seemed to be a bad thing, like less cool = less longevity...Maybe thats just a supra thing.

Its not really a bad thing except that letting the car run a few minutes before shutting it off is much more important on an oil only turbo. The coolant found on many stock turbos is to help deal with the problem of people shutting there car off without letting the turbo cool properly. Altho if you do run a coolant/oil turbo with oil only they tend to fail early.

On turbo cars they have a pump that runs after the car is run hard/high temp that moves the coolant. That is why you need to run the car after awhile when running the car hard.

Thanks again, brothers. I think most of the wet/dry questions have been answered. I originally expected a wet turbo, but when it arrived dry I called up Lindsey and we talked about it. Apparently MOST turbos are dry, just like all 911's even though they now have coolant available to them. I agreed to keep the dry one, and now I'm glad I did. It really does get rid of a lot of crap in the engine compartment and reduces the number of water lines from 12 to 7 or so. You can pitch the electric turbo water pump and the long metal spider web pipe that goes across in front of the belts. I always let her cool down before shutoff, I don't expect any problems.

Sammy, I used a couple of copper gaskets (near the turbo). The new exhaust does not use them, it has stainless band clamps.

944fest Update- Travis has shown me the beta Fest 06 website and it looks GREAT! We should be opening online registration in the next day or two. Initially the track registration will be open to "Front Engine Porsche Driving Rennlist Members". (or FEPDRMs)

excellent. Hopefully i can come up w/ the money since i only have five other shows that all require preregistration and each is like 75-$100 throughout the summer. Is there going to be a required registration date or a cut off date?

Dan, we'll open up registration tomorrow and run it until we are full. We are letting in 20 students and 20+ instructors until we fill up with 40. IF we aren't full by May 1st, we'll let non members and non waterboys join in. I'd recommend anyone serious about driving sign up asap, we'll probably fill up. You are a special case as you are on the crew, doing tech, etc. You don't need to worry about getting in.
