Default Dent in rear between brakelights and bumper

a few months back i was looking at a 944, and it had a dent where the porsche sticker is, between the brakelights and bumper, and i decided not to purchase it because i didn't know how that could ever be repaired as it is welded onto the other body parts. then today i was looking at this 944T on ebay and was wondering if anything can be done to repair it?

mine has a waver in this area it was probably hit before. You can probably either A, cut underneath, bang it out good enough to smooth it with bondo and repaint, or cut a piece of metal and shape it then weld it over the dent and smooth/paint it, or cut taht section out, and out of another car and weld it in.

I'm sure a good body man could band that out requiring little fill. Tough to see from the pic, but if it's confined to the area below the tail light, I wouldn't let the damage keep me from buying it.

Mine has almost the exact same damage but on the driver's side and without the cracked tail light. It did not hold me back from buying it......loving it ever since (the car not the dent)....LOL

I am in the process of fixing a much bigger dent than that.

I would get a big discount on the car, but it can be fixed rather easily.

The problem is that body shops are looking for insurance jobs that pay thousands of dollars so they will charge you an arm and a leg to fix it.

If that is the only damage then I can fix it rather easily. (maybe I want to buy the car)

Can you see the dent from the inside if you pull the tail light? If you can see it, you have a pretty good chance of doing a "90%" fix on it in about 10 minutes. with some light taps on a small round piece of pine placed in the "channel" so that you won't get any dimples from the hammer, and the metal will stretch just about back to its old position.

well i wasn't looking into buying this car, this one reminded me of a little bit ago when i was looking at one that had the same thing, only longer of a dent, but that wasn't the only thing that was wrong with the car (hadn't been driven in 2 years, we all know what that does, although he did start it for me and it ran perfectly, except there was no transmition). anyways it was a hinderance stoping me from buying the car as it seemed to be difficult to get at.

what's the link to the car? btw dont use wood to pound out dents since its square and has sharp edges you will most likely get an imprint of the square edges in your car...

Easy repair, Pull it out light fill and blend paint, whaaalaaaa good as new. Or you could get that corner cut off of someones parts car and weld it on and fix it that way.

I fixed a dent on mine that ran a couple of feet along that feature. There's precious little access to pound it out from the iside. Just a few of holes here and there. Lots of bondo and sanding and it's pretty good. Hard to get the contour right. I'm not putting the decal back as it'd show that it sways a bit. A quick look is fine.

FWIW I had incredibly similar damage when a lady backed into me in her SUV and Ran off... (witnesses caught the plate number for me so it's fixed...) anyway, the body shop charged her insurance about a grand to fix it...

Well, when they gave the the original quote without me knowing if she had insurance and everything, they told me about $600.00 to fix it... then I saw they jacked it up by $400.00... I'm geussing because it wasn't coming out of my pocket... these guys are great.
