Default Intake manifold gaskets fused to head..how can i get them off?

Well i finished taking everything apart and changing the o-rings on my air oil seperator. I am just having a problem getting the old intake manifold gaskets off the head now. They are literally fused to the head. Ive done this job before on my old 924S and a razor blade worked well to get them off. However these will not budge even with the razor blade...i could have probably placed the manifold right ontop of the gaskets and reused them. I started to chip away at them a little with the razor blade...but frankly i cannot see getting all four off using this method. 15 minutes got me a small portion off.

Is there some trick i can use to get the rest of these off..? Heating them maybe? Any other tricks i can use...its annoying me as this is preventing me from finishing right now.

Should i just replace the head?

You could try soaking them with gasoline and use a large PLASTIC putty knife to scrape them off.

I guess it goes without saying, don't smoke or hold a flame near the gasoline...

I use lacquer thinner on stuff like this. Razor blade should work well...unless the PO used some sort of sealant. They've usually popped off once I got a corner up.

Put a light coat of grease on the new gaskets and they will come right off next time.

Scuff them up with a wire brush (I use one on my bench grinder, but I know what I'm doing) and spray them with gasket remover. Be very careful using metal to scrape an alloy part.

I have been outside the last two hours and managed to scrape off two of the gaskets so far using a razor blade and a ton of carb cleaner. Going to take a ride to the autostore right now and get some Permatex gasket remover..i wish i realized they made stuff for this application before hand...would have saved my back!

I'm sure you know, but be sure to plug the ports with something (paper towels) so the crud doesn't get into the ports/cylinders.
