I believe that they are the same but not so sure on the mounting/screw locations on both. If anything the closest might be a 91 S2 but again not sure.

If youre talking about the whole hatch:
Outside of the obvious differences (the spoiler and the 3rd tailight), the two latches bolts use a different type gasket setup. The 944s have the gasket seal attached to the latch assembly on the hatch - the 968s have the gaskets attached to the body/frame of the car. I think you need to swap out the latch bolt assemblies on the hatch frames, in-order to swap a 951 hatch onto a 968.

If you are getting it just to have as a glass backup, then I do believe they are identical. It's the frame and spoiler mounting points that are different. IIRC.
