Default cooling fan bearing

My cooling fan bearing is on the way out, can this (they) be replaced?

replace the motor assy. Pretty easy, need to pull the whole fan shroud out though. IM guessing replacing the bearing would cost more than a new or "used" motor.

FYI, I oiled the hell out of the motors and bearings with light duty synthetic and let it cycle and soak a couple years ago... No problems since... I think all the dust and salt got into them and may have dried everything out...

Try that first

Yes they can be replaced. I'll have to find my notes on the part number. This is for the 3 bladed fans.

I suggest that you find a set of the six bladed fans, shroud, wiring harness, and just replace the three bladed units.

Bearing has 6001Z and PACAMOR and JAPAN on it. This is a sealed bearing where as the ones in the early fans are not. One bearing per fan behind the blades. You will have to drill out the rivits on the flange that holds the bearing to the front plate. Note that the brushes for the armature engage at an angle. You have to hold them into their guides when you slip the armature back in or you will BREAK them.

Thanks for all the info. I sprayed a bit of crc on it, that seemed to have helped a little. Next time it's on axle stands I'll replace the bearing.
