I want more power from my S2
I've got an 89 S2 with webcams, slight cleanup on the head and a K&N pod filter. The car runs good but feels like its being held back a bit. I plan to take the cat off and either run a pre muffler or test pipe into a muffler. I am also interested in some alternate fuel injector options and computer re-mapping suggestions. Any suggestions on who I should talk to or feedback.

larger fuel injectors don't add power btw...
you could try switching to a MAF sensor, and running a piggyback fuel controller to optimize the a/f ratio for a bit more power
n/a engines need some backpressure so I would suggest going with a full 3" exhaust with high flow cat and muffler - you could have an exhaust shop make you one for probably about $600 that would be from the headers back
you aren't gonna make a whole lot more power with any of these mods on a n/a 944 series car...maybe consider selling and moving to a 968

What does it feel like when a car's being held back?
Have you taken it to a mechanic to see if it's running well? Have you put it on a dyno?
And what's a webcam? Do you have internet access in your car? Now that would be cool.

they need resonance.
backpressure = BAD....

Bluegrass2: I'm really sorry to break this to you, but there isn't much you can do to get more power out of an S2 - short of forced induction. Pumping more fuel into your engine will not give you more power. It's only a requirement if you've upped the compression with different cylinders, or more boost. Cams, Exhaust, Chips, etc etc will cost you easy over $1000 and will net you about 20hp - If that. (~229hp)
On a turbo, $200 will get you performance chips + a boostcontroller, and 50+hp. (~270-300hp)Accept the S2 for what it is, or move up to a 951.
Unless you have a lot of money and free time, in which case you could supercharge or turbocharge your S2 motor.

I am not sure what the K&N Pod filter but when we put my engine on the dyno (engine, not rolling dyno) the after market filter (snorkel, forgot the brand) was stealing HP by about 12-15 hp vs. stock.
There is ways to get more power but it will cost 6K + for a extra 20-35hp. All club race legal by the way While it will never be as fast as a 951S, it is pretty darn close (on the track, not straight line) You need to find a good race shop that knows the NA 944's the HP is not cheap but if your willing to spend the money, it can be done.
Sorry I cant share, too much money spent on development to post how. When I change cars and race something else, I can tell you the where the magic is...

I see from your other post, that you are into Auto-X.
Since that is the case, I can't really recommend a turbo. I can say that a 968 is going to have WAY more potential than an S2 and still be competitive in AutoX. With the variocam and the new superchips, you can get over 250hp.
Not to put down the S2 for AutoX.. my friend Wes Shew owns a 1991 S2 and is a past SCCA National Solo AutoX champ. His car is pretty much bone stock m030 & LSD.. only mods are a harness bar and sparco seats.
FWIW: LSD is absolutely crucial for autoX

i think every engine that porsche made back then has potential. i just read that the new civic SI has 197hp out of 2.0L you have one whole liter more to work with...less revs. but that means more TQ.
get a good set of cams. remap the ignition and fuel. overlap the cams for high rpm HP. raise revlimit 500-1000rpm. upgrade the valvetrain. port and remake intake with short fat runners. remake exhaust 4 into one tuned for LESS BACKPRESSURE and resonance. (which will ulimatley give backpressure at somre rpm and take away at high rpm)
