Default Removing Rear Porsche Decal

I removed my decal with a heat gun, but it's left a horrible tattoo of the decal in the paint. I'm sure others have had to deal with it, what do you recommend?

I'm not replacing the decal if I can get the scar out.

No ideas? A quick compounding hasn't done anything.

I want to do this. Try wax.

No good, it basically looks burned into the paint.

Was that a polishing compound or something heavier? An abrasive compound actually removes paint so if that doesn't do it, a repaint might be needed.

P21S prewax stuff.

I could try a heavier duty 3M compound. If that didn't cut it, I'd go for applying a new sticker, ostentatious as they look. I'm just not up for repainting a perfectly good spot...I'm bad enough at touchup!

Thanks...
