So I was driving to work and a gasoline truck infront of me apparently sprayed a mist of gasoline on my car. All over my hood, front fenders and windshield. I was in a rush so I didnt stop, and parked the car. A few hours later I came back to a dry car, but all the gasoline droplets left dark spots on my white car. A car wash didnt help. I hope/don't think its actual damage to the paint. The windshield has the same marks. I'm hoping its just that the gasoline evaporated, and the petroleum or whatever it is is left over and stubborn to remove. How can I remove these marks? I would imagine gasoline is bad for paint, but perhaps if I put gasoline on the marks, it would dissolve the petroleum, and then I can rinse it all off with water before it evaporates and dries again. Help!!!

Any time some nasty stuff gets on my paint, I reach for my paint cleaning clay. It removes just about anything foreign from my paint's surface. However, if the paint got etched by the gasoline, bad news.

I would guess it just needs a buffing/waxing. Maybe a good scrbu. the gaswouldve evaporated before it did much hharm I think, especially if you were driving it should have evaporated within several seconds. It's either residue left from it evaporating or it wore through the wax, probably..

Hopefully you got the trucks info... They should be on the hook for any damage to your car, not to mention in a world of trouble for that. That could have been a killer situation...
