tomorrow, thursday?

Found a miata i am interested in. i dont know if i trust myself with cashiers check in hand to see all i should see.

EDIT Friday Evening:
I took my usual 7:15am train to Penn Station NY this morning. Got in at 8:05. Bought a ticket to DC on the 9:35 train. Went to bank and got cashiers check.

Arrived in DC at 1:00. Seller picked my up at station about 1:25 and we went to his house. Did the deal and I got a folder full of receipts plus the window sticker.

Drove the car 240 miles home without a hiccup. got 29mpg.

It is a 99 Miata 5speed leather/bose. one owner, strut tower brace and chasis braces. K&N and wires complete the mods. Newer tires Eagle GTs, new top as in less than 400 miles at a cost of $1,100.

40,747 miles when i piced it up.

i just called the seller at work. He is legit. He has to be to be standing where he said he is standing in DC working for an international news network. I went to the networks site, and punched in his name, got a picture, now if the picture matches teh guy im meeting..... Im taking the plunge for 7500 without a PPI, without seeing a picture, without anything but his descriptions.

Yes, I lost it, but i think I am getting a deal on a black 99 5 spd miata with leather a brand new top and 41k on the clock.

Miata's are nice cars. A freind just purchased a 99 10AE for 10K, and the car has been great. It has the 6 speed, and LSD. He's starting to mod it, but first thing he did was roll bar.

I was on the miata forum in a section they have for pricing. a guy says the price someone wants to pay for a 99 with 100k is high because he is trading in his 99 with 41k this week. I send him a PM and sends me a PM. We talk, and he says it has to be done by thursday because the insurance goes, and his trade....

i was weary but he sounded legit. didnt sound like a scammer at all, story was too clean. then i call back and he answers white house. i then look him up and he is a producer. he has too much to lose screwing around with a used car to sacrifice his clearence.

i am getting it for 7500 with 41k miles. more than i wanted to spend, but..... oh i knocked him down from 8k.

Well that celebration was short lived.

I gotta cancel. The Dr. i went to last week for a bladder infection (my welcome to middle age) just called. I gotta see him tomorrow. He didnt like what he saw on the CT scan.

he wants to do one of those tests with the tube that goes up the....

so my choice is either the test, or drive a new toy home. Decisions decisions.

Ouch! is all I can think of! So, no Miata, and yes Doctor? Can't you put off the dr for a few days?

the test was not that bad. i was not a walk in the park but not that bad. it was about fifteen minutes after the test when the anesthesia (they sort of shoot a jelly down a one way street the wrong way and clamp it at the top while it seeps down towards the bladder) wore off that all hell broke loose.

a friend called a few minutes before i left and told me about a pill that turns pee orange or blue and numbs the pain for the next few days. i grubbed two days worth of samples.

i am taking the train to DC tomorrow and driving the car back. if the test on the lung is bad I will let my estate sell the car, otherwise I am not going to stop living. im still scared ****less but i cant get the CT and PT scan done for a few days.

Well Tom, I'll be pulling for ya and I'm sure the little one in the avatar will too. I smile every time I see your av cause I have a princess in my life too. There great, but need us to stick around, so do what ever the Doc says.
