85.5 944 part out or sell whole?
Hey guys. I need a little advice. I have an 85.5 944 with a running motor in it, no interior, no electrical. That is to say the motor does in fact run, just not ri9ght now b/c there is no computer in the car or wiring hartnesses. Everything has been pulled from the vehicle in preparation for a repaint which is badly needed. The car is 5 different colors but EVERY body panel is straight. I have decided to sell this car. The question for you all is.... DO I SELL IT WHOLE OR PART IT OUT? Would anyone be interested in the whole thing in the Atlanta area? I am not looking to make a bunch of money on it so I could go either way... I just hate to kill another 944. If I get more interest for parts rather than the whole thing, I'll part it. I'll let you all decide. The car can go as is for $1,500, motor and roller and all the parts I have for it (wiring harnesses, seats, dash if you want it, etc. PM me if anyone is interested. I am VERY FLEXIBle on all this. Thanks
Chris W.
Oh and the whole reason for the car's state of being is that I was preparing it for lapping days to blow the doors off lambo's, but the wife has decided she wants a 911. With an endorsement from the wife for a 911, I gotta get the 911. Besides, I already have a mint 951 to play with!

Here are some pics... and yes... this IS the ugliest 944 out there... it is, however, AMAZINGLY STRAIGHT. It really needs paint and some racing seats and it'd be ready for the track. I drove it around before I started stripping the interior and the engine still pulled hard! This would NOT be a good car to bring back to daily driver status.

I normally hate responding this way and I greatly favor trying to save these cars rather than seeing them chopped up and thrown away like yesterday's diapers, but I think that car is a lost cause. I'd part it. Cheap respray? No interior? Hacked-up engine bay? That thing's good for $500 as-is. Maybe $1,000 if you're lucky. Sorry.
You should be able to get about $2,000 parting it depending on how lucky and patient you are.

Thanks for the advice... I am not really all that concerned with getting alot for it... I'd rather see it go to someone looking to build a track car... but if I can't get rid of it, she gets parted and chopped up...

At this point, I'd be ecstatic to get $1,000 for it... the engine is good afterall, and the parts on it alone are easily worth that. I just hate to part these cars out b/c one day there won't be any more left... but if it comes to parting it or junking the whole thing, I will make the parts available cheap...
