Default 968 mirrors installed, well only one so far...

Got the mirrors painted and cut wires etc etc.
Its been a pain getting these things wired right. I managed to get the driver side wired and installed, looks great. Now i see why most people go with the 968 mirror upgrade, it looks alot better in person.
Pass side has 4 wires, the door has 5 wires, im leaving the heated mirrors of. What goes where? icat's writeup is great however i was a little to anxious when i started cutting the flag mirror wires of and didn't write anything down

Anyway heres a couple pics and if anyone can make anything out of the pass mirror and door pic wiring, let me know.
Thanks in advance.

Well done my man - it looks great! Who painted them for you? (And were they apart before painting? ie Did you take them apart from the base and put them back together? - I havent messed with mine yet. just curious.)

btw- Did the spacer issue get resolved?

Hey Sam,
They got painted at a local bodyshop. And no i didnt take the base apart just told the guy to make sure the mirrors could still flip, if that makes any sense.
You need to get yours installed! But hey, your car doesnt need a whole lot more to make it look perfect

Here is the wiring info I used - colours will hopefully match your wires too.

This is what I've been using...

Now I'm worried because the wiring schematics are different!!

One tip: Check the connections before you mount the mirror, duh!

I have been using that chart also however if you read the "passenger side wiring harness" nr one is BLACK and nr two is BLACK/BROWN STRIPE, well i only have the BLACK/BROWN STRIPE.

And im checking the connection before i mount the mirror, thats why the passenger side mirror is not mounted yet, duh !
(thanks for the heads up thought )

Is it a difference between 86' and 87' models?

I mentioned checking the motor operations prior to installing the glass as it's one of four things I struggled with and will suggest to the author to include in his write-up.

If I recall, the two brown wires on the 968 leds are for the heated mirror glass. If you don't have these just ignore them.

Red Aero led goes to the Black with Brown Stripe on the car.
Blue Aero led goes to the White with Brown Stripe on car.
White Aero led goes to the White led on the car.

This leaves us with the Black on the Aero led and a choice of two wires on the car to connect it to - Brown with Yellow Stripe or the Brown. There should be an additional Black wire - but as I understand your post it is not there. So, if I was confronted with this delima I'd try each of the remaining two wires on the Black and see if one or the other works. But there should really be a black wire in there somewhere. Did the original flag mirrors work before?

Just took real close look at your photos. The connector shown "on car" in photo 3 is not the stock connector (at least as far as I know). As such, I'm not sure what to tell you. Like I mentioned, try both of the wires you have left and see if either works.

Then yes (he said sheepishly while trying to save face) I was correct. That is not the stock connector.

I was out on LR site sometime ago and noticed they sell a 968 mirror adapter for the 86 model cars so the wiring must be different.
